In the AF100 forum I'm reading about the Apple gamma shift, something I didn't know about earlier. At what stage does this shift affect video and is there a work-around? Does it only affect video when playing/watching video files on an Apple meaning they're being displayed in the wrong gamma on an Apple screen, or does FCP also render (export as prores 422 quicktime video to hard drive) finished projects in the wrong gamma? I edit Panasonic AVCHD/h264 clips in FCS3 and convert the exported prores 422 quicktime video to h264/mp4 using Episode 5 and I never noticed any gamma difference between source and edited videos, both on my Apple and PC. Is the gamma shift a Compressor issue (which I don't use because I prefer Episode)?
