artifacts in dvd

I'm getting occasional artifacts when burning DVD's. Using Compressor, then burning with Toast Titanium. Using 8x discs, setting Toast at 8x. Using Memorex DVD's. Is it bad discs, should I use slower burn speed, any suggestions helpful. Thanks.

There's not enough info here to determine the actual cause of the artifacts, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to use a better DVD. Think Verbatim.
