I'm thinking this is probably not related to P2. That is actually 4 SD cards housed in a PCMCIA shell and the individual SD cards are not meant to be removable.

Actually you are right, but I'm guessing there will be something similar for the P2 cards.

Exactly. There's also the AJ-PCS060 DVCPRO P2 Store coming with a built-in hard drive for field transferring from P2 cards:

I still don't understand the PC only thing! Macs have USB 2.0 too.

It will be supported for Mac as far I know- though understandably older G4s and Powerbooks with USB 1.0 will be stuck at the slow transfer speeds.

I know I would think would have one that works with Mac since they work with Apple all the time.

I suspect there will be something of a 3rd party market to spring up as well with other transfer and hard drive options.
