Hey guys how about we see some footage/screen grabs of the xl2?

I have noticed there is a Thread for the dvx footage/screen grabs I was wondering if it be ok to start a xl2 thread of the same.

I am sure there are many of you out there that are using the xl2 and have got some great work and wouldn't mind sharing it with the rest, so how about it ?

Heres one... I took this at night with a 1/8 shutter and 1.6 iris.

Very nice, I have noticed the xl2 seems to work very well under low light. whats was the gain set to and ae shift mind me asking?

I left the Gain on auto. The auto gain setting seems to work very well. The only things I changed was the iris and shutter speed.

Under full auto settings, the xl2 SUCKS in low light. And I mean it's horrible, it's very noisy. So if you get an xl2, make sure you don't mind changing the settings every time you want to shoot something.

Thats one of the few things I didn't like about it, the auto and easy recording settings just weren't good enough.

If you had used a faster shutter speed, could you have then run that through some post effects to boost the coulours and still get a similar image?

Or wouldn't the camera pick up enough for that?

I was just thinking of a way to smooth it out a bit that's all.

BTW the image came up well

I can't post attachments either, you may have to reach a certain member status before you can do that... or perhaps contact the admin.

To post something you'll probably have to leave a link for the dl that you put elsewhere (like what you've done with the jpeg images)

I'd just like to let you know that the download he links to is an application now. It may have not been before but it is now.

I thought it was possibly just a mistake so I renamed it with the .wmv extension and proceeded to open the file. Now the file will not delete because no matter what I do it acts as if it is always running or being used by another program.

First day I come on these boards and I have to deal with something like this?

I guess that's my luck, haha

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I could possibly get it off of my comp?

Note: I have booted in safe mode, ended every program and even some system processes but for some reason the file acts as if there is still something using it.

This didn't happen to me Maynard. No issues whatsever on any of these links provided. I suggest using a product like Norton or Symantic in the future.

I use Zone Alarm Security Suite. With my experiences it has worked much better then both Norton and McAffee.

Just to clear it up, it's not a virus. Think of it more as a faulty download dependent upon what browser you may be using.

I tried the link in Internet Explorer and it worked just fine, but when I use Opera it saves it as an application.

It has never done this with any site or download I have gotten before. Only this particular file has done it. Maybe an issue with his webspace and specific browser usage?

Could be a problem if someone were to get in a hole like I was.

I was able to delete it with some "boot-deleting" software, I just hope no one else has any problems.

By the way, nice footage... Maybe have a static shot and try some timelapse with the cars streaming by. It could give you a pretty neat looking light streaming effect.
