We were looking at doing this short film and I was very glad when the next fest was announced to be FictionFest, because one of the things I knew I was going to miss about making this film outside of a dvxfest was the official movie thread and all the comments and collaboration that come along with a dvxfest. FictionFest is a pretty wide-open theme and it's a great opportunity for us to get into another fest here.
March is a long way away, so we have plenty of time to make this happen, and Michelle is frighteningly determined. Her exact words: "We're making this film whether you like it or not!"
Shooting on the stock HVX, with both a 16 gig P2 cards and FS-100 Firestore available to us, Seinheiser shotgun mic, Lowel light kit, post to be done in Adobe CS3. Old school all-around for the most part. I might upgrade my iPhone 3 to and iPhone 4 so I have a little pocket movie studio to to some on-the-fly BTS and updates. Shot this video log entry with my old old old Creative Webcam, it has to be six or seven years old. It still works!
All we have right now is a script and Michelle and myself. We need everything else--production crew, actors, a composer. Right now we need someone to take a shot at doing a poster.
I'll try to keep up my video log as we go along, and thanks in advance for helping us along the way!

I hope this involves some kind of boy cow hybrid. :)

Thanks for all the well-wishes---we shall try not to disappoint, and we wish everyone the best of luck in this fest. I expect given the wide-open theme and the long time that we'll see a large field for this fest.
I hope this involves some kind of boy cow hybrid. :)
I guess that would be a "real" cowboy, but we'll do sci-fi another time.

And we have BTS already... nicely done.
iPhone 3 to and iPhone 4 so I have a little pocket movie studio.
Me too, great idea, the high rez video on the iPhone 4 looks pretty usable, and very handy to have.

Carleton Torpin is doing some very interesting moviemaking stuff exclusively with the iPhone 4; check out his blog at www.portableproject.org (http://www.portableproject.org)
