Hi guys,

Here's a recent spot I shot using the T2i with Canon 50mm 1.8 with just available lighting and the Litepanels micro. I also used the G2 Sennheiser lav mic and the Tascam DR-100 for the audio. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

not bad, some of the shots seemed a bit repetitive (same tilt/dolly shots), but there was a variety of shots overall in there which is good, I liked the backstory that he gave - it shows the business has history and character. his face room/space could have been changed for him to look off camera to the left instead of the right (or vice versa from his POV) - looking off the edge of the screen that he was closest too is a bit unnerving for most audiences - however, he did look at the camera quite a bit and it's not like it was unwatchable by any means. audio sounded great, no problems or concerns for me as far as the lighting was concerned either - everything seemed to be exposed properly. overall a good piece though :)

I would have mixed in some macro shots of some of the employee's working/packing, etc to break up all the pan/tilts/trucking. The shot of the interviewer looked awesome, but I would have framed him on the left side. Since he's looking off camera to the right most of the time, you want that extra space on his left. I've also seen this a lot in film work lately and I don't like it, but I guess it's a stylistic trend that's been gaining popularity as of late. In a piece like this however, one that's strictly informational, you definitely want to stick with shooting standards and not get to artsy (if your framing was intentional).

Hi Adam, thanks for that observation. I just realized the framing and noticed it when I was done shooting and doing the post work. Appreciate the feedback.

@AllAroundFilmLV, thanks for the feedback as well. I used just natural light with this ad. Good point on the macro shots, I should have done that to add variety to the shots. Thanks for the input once again. Cheers!
