Better start justifying the Z1 purchase before it becomes obsolete. ;D Or in my case, the dvx :P

ha ha.. dont worry Im trying to get a Group discount from the american heart association. I think alot of us woke up with some tremors.
So now that the word seems to be out, do you think Panasonic might release more info before NAB? They will probably want to keep the hype going.

Damn, am I glad I waited a bit longer before buying a camera.
Then again, I'll just have to wait even longer, but it'll be worth it.

yes, this is great and all but for now, we should just do the best we can with what we have, XL,Gl,DVX. Don't waist time drooling but waste time learning and perfect our craft.

True. I still feel a a little sick though. I just purchased the DVX 3 weeks ago. :( Well, if the new cam is around $6,000 or more, it'll be out of my price range.
Peace
Then it wouldn't be time wasted ;)

I for one, am glad to have my DVX. It has taught me alot about recording 24p digital, and since I am really new to the whole digital film making thing, it was the perfect camera to learn the process on. I don't regret my purchase at this time (famous last words hahaha).
Nor do I. I got the DVX in December and I don't regret it. There is plenty to learn without the extra pain of HD and honestly, for shorts, I can't think of a better camera.
I'm going to be very curious to see what Disjecta comes up with if/when he buys one of these new suckers :D

Jan has said that it doesn't look like the mockup.
Where was that thread, btw? I can't seem to find that post again nor the post where Jan confirms the DVCproHD.

That is not, I repeat not, a picture of the new camcorder.
Sorry for not being able to say more guys, I am under lock-down on the subject. I can only say under $10,000, DVCPRO25/50/HD on P2, 24P.
Stay tuned,
Jan
Thank you kindly sir! Couldn't find that for the life of me!

You're welcome. :D
Spend less time drooling about the next big camera, spend more time on your script.
If you've got a DVX, and a great script, nothing is stopping you from making an awesome flick. Don't everyone freak out like when Canon announced the XL2.

Correction, if you've got a great script and a BANKABLE STAR, you can use the dvx.
Otherwise, shoot film.
Well, I suppose you also need talent for shooting.
So, allow me to revise: The DVX is a great camera, don't freak out over new technology.
