I found a small article from last September about Panasonic's new line of speedy SD cards; they have a write speed of up to 20MBps. I'll bet that these are the SD cards being used in P2 cards for two reasons:
1) They're made by Panasonic (duh).
2) If you RAID 0 four of these cards together in a P2, you'd get a data rate of 80MBps, or 640Mbps, which is the listed data rate for P2 HD cards.
One interesting thing about the article is that it gives pricing for the SD cards. The 1GB card costs $243 and the 512MB costs $117. Multiply by 4 to get a minimum base price for the 4GB and 2 GB P2 cards, respectively.
Also, the article gives the product roadmap for the next couple of years. The top size of the SD cards should double to 2GB this year and redouble every year after.

(Everything in this post beyond what the article says is just conjecture on my part.)
