Does anyone know at all if the camera will be capable of recording in 60fps-4fps? I would love to shoot on high speed cameras to have some great slow motion takes of whatever action on screen?
I would love the camera to shoot in 60fps!

That's a complete unknown at this point. We know the recording format is capable of recording 60p, but we don't know whether the CCDs and the rest of the imaging chain are capable of delivering 60 progressive frames per second.
Stay tuned to April 18th...

24p, 25p, 30p, 60p. Uh...NTSC/PAL switchable like the Cinealta, that would be great.

Let's not leave out 50p then... 24p/25p/30p/50p/60p. That would be *sweet*!

My bet is the new P2 recording cam (whatever it will be called) will do variable framerate recording onto the P2 media.
A little birdie told me that's what to expect. Let's all hope it does the same framerates as Varicam!
FWIW I have my fingers crossed.

OK, the first post with the new forum software, and in the threaded mode! Yes, threads! I love threaded forums.
OK, the old post seems to have been deleted, so here it comes again:
Seamless/rungless(?) framerates would be great, like from 0.001p to 60p. But for NTSC/PAL switchable, I would give away 50p and 60p.

Well it would help to keep down the production costs, if they make it a variable frame rate. So PAL and NTSC users can buy the same cam. And of course 60P is great for us PAL users if we want slow motion or what I usually call it, the John Woo Frame Rate...
