I think we need to contact as many people in the Tri-State area from DVXuser and also establish an agenda so that we are not just sitting around drinking coffee,lol.

Maybe we can get a sponsor to let us hold periodic meetings somewhere

Invite various vendors, pro's etc to teach and demonstrate

Maybe talk to Jan and see if Panasonic might be able to give some input from time to time

Just a few ideas, I am sure a lot of you have suggestions

Ha! funny how there are is two group developing... I've been working in contacting others and creating a plan for the DVX group.

If you all are interested in joing email me your contact information and I can bring you all into the loop.

the things I have been looking into for the DVX user group in NYC are:

-Funds and sponsorship
-work on projects for collaboration and practice
-finding professionals to be guest speakers
-work on projects to submit to film-festivals
-find jobs or internship on big budget productions here in NY
-look for motivated and highly interested individuals
-a place to meet
-and a calendar of events.

Jess will be working with me trying to make this happen and make it real...

Hey guys, I've seen some really great ideas tossed around, and i think we should go for them all (Sponsors and speakers, etc...) However, i think we should set up a meeting date sooner rather than later, even if we have not met all of our ambitious goals. Like I said, we should get those things going, but there is no reason we can't meet on a simpler level while we set all that up. I feel like it's more likely to happen for real if we set a date and meet up soon (If only to meet each other and organize ourselves and/or decide on an agenda). How do you guys feel about that?

Is anyone available to meet this week? I just finished shooting a concert and would be back to NYC on Monday morning... I will be available to meet anytime after tuesday. There is so much going on around town from filmfestivals to running productions and I want us to grab all we can. About the Club, I am still getting people's contact.. the group is growing.... it will be very collaborative and with synergism among all. Like I mentioned before, the sooner the better, other clubs around the country are already happening.

If you feel more confortable sending me your availability Jess will work it out to match it with everyone elses availability to arrange the first meeting and get going from there. We are already looking into some filmmakers to be guest speakers and a place to meet.

Does any body have county of preference? a potential location could be a stationary office in City College in Manhattan. I am looking into other choices as well.

Hey wassup, I am in the NY area. I make music videos and have a t.v. show in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I have a Panasonic GS50S (ultra compact 1ccd) waiting to find out what happens after nab to get a 1/3 3ccd prosumer. So far it has been gs120 (3ccd 1/6)(get it now and just wait to get something better) VX2100 or HDV FX1, and now the DVX has popped up (audio quality) I wouldnt of guessed sony would purposely nueter the VX and PD series but knowing sony's new (recent 10 years) habit of sub par quality its easy to believe. XL2 was also on the list but the XL3 is around the corner. Undecided
