Help making a film reel

Hey guys, how is everybody doing today?

I was just looking for some help and tips in making a film reel. My friend and I are looking into starting a media gig. He will take care of the photography and I will take care of the videography. I'm not sure exactly what we should be filming for the reel though.

I was thinking a few clips from every season, like now in Fall we were going to go on a hike and film some Fall oriented nature and some downtown architecture. Basically things that would give you the feeling of fall.

What should I be filming though? We are aiming to cater to any situation that would need video and photography. Are clips from every season a good idea?

Ideally you should pull from stuff you've already shot. I'd make a short film and get really cinematic with it and use some of the shots. If you want to be getting commercial jobs, go shoot some products, if you want to film weddings, then shoot you're friends in movement. Film whatever types of jobs you want to be getting.
