For partying and going to strip clubs, its great. If anything I was referring more to the clutteredness in the inner city(which I dont mind that much, as long as someone else is driving). Hell, my brother works at CNet, and lived there for 4 years, before moving to Emeryville, even though he still works in the city, just cuz he got tired of "city" life, and wanted a little more wide open space. Really, I love SF, I just wouldnt want to live in SF.

oh, and its a 45 minute drive for me(and my car is a stick shift--not good for city driving), too.

I can gather about 30 people for a DVX group. I work closely with the local school and colleges. I've already brought it up and everyone seems very intrested. We just need our spokes person. I think this would be really intresting to do. We need people to help cordinate this.. anyone?

COo coo, any time I try to check em out live, one of my friends flake out or something goes wrong, so I haven't seen em live yet. *But I saw murs live at an atmos show, he killed it. *Gotta be my fav legends member. *

Oh, and a Northern CA DVX user meeting would be cool. *If I was in the area, I'd try to make it. *(...trying to stay on subject...)

Well, to hijack this thread completely- I haven't seen them live either. I really only get a chance to listen to them when my buddy plays them in his car. But I dig em a lot.

Murs is my favorite member as well, Felt is such an awesome CD.

I've been listening to TONS of Aesop Rock lately.

Yeah, ummm. DVXuser meet and greet would be awesome. Snoogins.

Walnut creek might be a good place to find some space if anyone is out that direction... easy to get to, central to us folk who live AROUND SF. If you wanted a more northern location I could look for something up north -- say the Jelly Belly factory? They owe me a favor.

They've given free sample bags every time I've been there for meetings... one time they even had a flowing chocolate fountain too!! Doubt they'd set that up for us.

I'll have to give them a call... see what they'd do for us.

Hey, the SW is pretty slow - AZ is a dud ... so far...
My first choice is to go to Mars...but...looking for alternate...
If it is in San Francisco, and "non regionals" are allowed,
I'd take a leap over So Cal to join in.

I'm in Sunnyvale, CA. I'm also interested in going to a local DVX meeting. But I prefer not have to drive far like SF or Sacramento. Somewhere in south bay would be nice.

Man, the NorCal group is a bunch of whining bitches. I was just in Coarsegold, Emeryville and the City for a week - wish we could have hooked-up.

I shot some wicked waterfall pictures in the valley - haven't seen that much water there in decades.

Now I'm back in the NC until a two-week trip in September. Anything in North Beach, Emeryville, Alameda or Napa would be dead sexy. Mmm... Napa. I bet Francis would let us use the great room at Niebaum-Coppolla for free if we told him what we were up to - and if we bought copious amounts of his yummy red-drink.

We could shoot a picture about some guys wandering around the valley in a grape-induced daze, prowling for unsuspecting women. Tell me this hasn't been done!

Hey Gang,

I just saw this message revived - didn't know there was so many No Cal people w/ DVX cameras.

I am getting the ball rolling on starting up a group in San Francisco (I know... I know). But the nice thing is - the highway dwellers can sneak off the highway and its just a few blocks away from the off ramp so you can bypass all the smelly cluttered streets and arrive at the location -

I intend to have the first meeting within the next 2 months. The location is at a video production/educational facility that has state of the art computers with the latest apple and PC software. Depending on the number that show, we could use the main screening room as well for video screenings featuring our profoundly beautiful DVX cameras.

I'll let ya all know when I get things firmed up. The organization is definitely interested in helping to host the group.

funny that you said that because we are shooting in Sac in four weeks. We're shooting a short film titled "Apartment 7". It's a Japanese style horror flick! We might shoot this sucker on the FX1 or if we get enough money, were going to go for the SDX900. We can always use an extra hand.
