Has anyone tried this software. I am giving it a try, we had a wedding in September, I finished over a month ago, there is some misspelled names (they gave us the name like that) plus 2-3 minor errors on my part. I don't have time to reload all the video and create another one.

I bought it for $35.00 and I am converting my dvd's VOB files into am AVI so that I can re-load into my editing program.

If it works, I post the link and recommend it, if it doesn't work, I'll let you know all about it.

I realized this software will take about 24 hours to turn your DVDs into AVI files, if it is 2 hours long. It goes through it frame by frame, So I will try it later this week.

I assume you know this of coarse, but anyway - The files on your DVD will be compressed - The AVIs will not be full DV

DKPD,

Nice touch to your avatar. I thought at first I had a spot in my eye, but it was just the flash.

Should I have chosen MPEG instead of AVI?

I am just testing it first to see if this will save three weeks of going back to change a name she spelled wrong on the paper. I don't know if there will be any noticeable difference as the wedding is already 1hr35min.

We'll see. It is doing it now.

Problem is when you burned /encoded it to DVD it was compressed via mpeg. So ripping from DVD will be from compressed footage.

But that said, being that it's going back to DVD it may not be all that noticeable. I have never done it but it wont be the original footage you started with for sure. How bad it was compressed I'm not 100% sure.

You may need to recapture.

Expect to lose some quality when you rip any DVD to AVI. Just recapture your footage or just hope they don't notice the quality. When they preview it, have them sit 20 feet and I think they wont notice the pixelation. :)

Converted it to MPEG2, pulling it into Studio 9, it even broke it down into clips via the chapter points I had set. This will make it easy to re-create my DVD.

All I have to do is fix the few errors and the quality looks good. I'll update on the DVD quality when I get burned.
