I'm no computer dummy but someway, somehow my external Firewire drive had its volume deleted. The drive is recognized but seen as unformatted. Please no lecturing on the importance of backing up, blah blah blah. I know all of this.

I had been storing a lot of very important stuff on there. I know the information is (technically) still there as I have not written any further to the drive. But how can I recover the data?!

I need to revert my hard drive to the state in was in just previous to this disaster. Or at least move the files to my other hard drive. Can someone recommend some software to do this? I am running Windows XP Pro.

Much Appreciated,

You could probably do it with an open source UNIX machine that WASN'T running Mac OS, if you have/had access to one.

Thanks! I actually solved the problem. I recover my data with a program from Acronis. Worked perfectly and very fast!
