So...
1. How do you get two AF100s to record frames at the exact same time?
a) genlock?
b) the old hacked startup / record remote method?
2. How do you get two AF100s' lenses to match in focus / zoom?
a) I notice a camera remote input for focus / iris. Could we hook up one remote to 2 cameras? Potentially this remote would have to be quite smart and compensate for variations between the two cameras' lenses / backfocus.
b) Birger with Canon EOS lens?
c) RedRock?
Of course you could do C-Motion etc but it makes little sense IMHO to use lens control that costs more than the camera.
That USB connection can't help us out in any way, could it? It'd be so awesome if you could just hook it up, designate a "master camera" and have the other one follow it...
Anyway, 48fps 1080p 3D for under $9000 for 2 cameras sounds awfully nice.
I was assuming that I'd have to go with a pair of Scarlet 2/3rds fixed cams at minimum for this - their whole modular, fly-by-wire remotes thing, metadata recording, etc seems made for stereo (if they enable everything, unlike the whole /i thing which took ages to implement) - but I owe it to myself to check out the AF100 as well methinks!
Also, how wide is the AF100? To me some of the detachable-ness of the handgrips seems designed with mounting side-by-side in mind.
