Check out these screenshots -- you won't be disappointed! They've been downconverted considerably and yet they still show off an awful lot of beauty IMHO...

Pretty pictures, yes. Just wish we could get some motion shots putting the cam through its paces.

Those forums are great. They get as excited about the FX1 as we do about the DVX over here. I spend just 5 minutes looking at threads and I'm ready to buy an FX1. It's funny how impresionable I am as a consumer, and I'm probably about as savvy as it gets.

Awesome pics. Can't wait to see a project shot of the FX1 and run through DVFilm maker or Magic Bullet.

Well, I'm scheduled to make a 5 min. short film with my new FX1 on december 11th and 12th, and I hope to have at least a rough cut posted right after the holidays. That may give you fine folks some footage to actually debate (as opposed to all the random "here's the camera out my car window" stuff that's out there now).

I can't imagine too many people will have a chance to actually use the FX1 on a "real" project, edit it, and post it much before then, but I suspect we'll see a handful done at about the same time.

I have a feeling that we'll all be pleased -- at least with the camera, if not my still-burgeoning lighting/shot selection skills. ;)

I've had the camera for 2 weeks now and I'm impressed, especially with the downconversion via component --> SDI.

I'll be shooting a :30 second spot this weekend for a new urban clothing retailer. We'll be shooting mostly interiors, closeup shots of the female models as they change into different "urban sheik" outfits while in cars/bathrooms/changing rooms, etc. It should make for a sexy spot. We'll also will be doing a few car hood and window rigs.

wish us luck!

This is really the first step in the HDV evolution. I don't even count that JVC as anything significant other than an academic experiement.
