some cool stuff. i doubt the cinegamma-setting-options will match the DVX, but if the cam by itself has a nice exposure level then we can fix a lot in post.
impressive stuff in this list.

we can fix a lot in post.
honestly...I HATE this line of thinking.
Do it in camera, as much as possible. Use post as a last resort. Too many people rely on post nowadays. unless your doing something very specific with DI, its just a slack way of shooting.
Show where your real talent lies...not what a computer can fix for you.
Sorry for the OT rant :D

:slaps forehead:
No where does it say 24p.
It says 24 frames per second. And with closer look it says 24 frames per second with cineframe...
Same thing everyone has been saying all along.
The question is how good will the cineframe 24 look compared to the FX1.
I've read through the list...I really wish I could say I was impressed, but I'm not.
More and more I read and think about it...I think I'll end up buying a dvx after jan 1st.

2nd thoughts:
No where does it say whether it does true 24p in DV mode. I'm curious about this, but my guess is no.
To me shooting 24p is more important then shooting in HDV.

...and that too with professionally, accptable sound...not any compressed audio.

Amusing...but we all know I meant from a visual standpoint.
imo it shows who is really talented in the field of cinematography.
Anyone can shoot something and say "I'll just fix it post" Its fancy talk for "I don't really know what I'm doing, I need a crutch."
EDIT: Rich I just checked out your website, very great stuff, very nice credits. And I see you have a lot to do in music videos...it makes sense now...those are the kings of "We'll do it all in post" :D
Keep up the good work. I also like the Sho-nuff avatar.

john, you are right. what i meant was the fact that Z1 has 2 cinegamma modes and the 100A has many more. but if the cinegamma of the Z1 at least avoids the clipping whites and crushing blacks to some degree (and hence capture a more "filmlike" image in terms of exposure) then you can emulate some of the looks that the DVX does incam.

Cool, as I said I respect your work. I deleted my reply as well, as to keep the thread on topic.

sony has stated that it is the same thing in both cameras.
