I'm a new user (and an amateur) with an FX 1 purchased for home and occasional office use. Does anyone know whether Final Cut Pro HD will allow for simple editing on my I Mac G4, or must I also purchase Lumiere HD plug-in?
Thanks from a newbie.

Hi Jon,
You can use a couple of free apps if you're just testing:
DVHSCAP from the Apple firewire developers package for copying the files to your hard drive. MPEG Streamclip for converting the MPEG files to quictime for editing.
Enjoy,
Sam

I use FCP for use with my FX1. If you want to keep the HD output you need the plug ins, ofn ot, you can still get pretty much the best DV footage out there if you shoot in HDV mode, edit in FCP and output to DVD or DV. Beats my DVX and Xl2 standard DV footage.
