Have you guys seen that Mcdonald Commercial when Ronald Mcdonald was walking in the street with those kids and it started to rain. Then he stops the rain where its at and he pushes the raindrops aside and went into Mcdonalds.

Can some tell me how to do that I think thats cool I think that effect was in that Jet lei movie too "HERO"

Ihop,

This is a really advanced effect. You might want to do a search on the net.

I'm going to say Maya or 3dSM, but I wouldn't have the first idea on how to guide you through it.

There could be a better way though, I'm not sure.

if the camera is moving. you will need to track the camera to recreate the move in 3d...then use some sort of particle effect like that found in maya/xsi/3dmax. 3d rain can be hard. alot of the rain in the the matrix revolutions was 3d. amazing stuff actualy. not only do you have to track the camera, but you will have to create surfaces in 3d that represents people and enviroment. this way you can tell your 3d rain to bounce and emit more water when it comes in contact with the surface.

if the shot is locked off. you might be able to pull off the effect in after effects.
