Just looking for an alternative to using a treadmill(my first thought) for a tracking shot in front of a greenscreen. My screen is only 9x11 and that will not do for the shot i'm after. I know rodriguez suspended the actor with wires to get the shot in spy kids 3 but it looked as if he were floating to me. Anyone know of something i could build to simulate a treadmill without having to plunk down the cash to actually buy one just to paint green?? any input would be appreciated.
What exactly is the shot? I hate to say it, but that's going to be VERY hard to pull off convincingly.

I take it's not practical to do this as a practical shot?
Can you get away with waist up type of shot?
If you're considering adding a person walking into a moving plate with feet matching then you're in for a world of hurt.
If you can deal with the person actually walking (depending on plate) you coudl consider foamcore being held by someone walking behind them. You only need enough screen to cover the actor.
if the shot is short you could consider rotoscoping the person.
Rotoscoping...
*Shudder*

If you've got the right tools it doesn't have to be super time consuming. I've seen a number of people spend more time trying to key a shot that should havebeen rotoed.
