Just out of curiosity:
How do you create spiderwebs?

Try stretching out cotton. It's the cheapest and safest way. I've also heard of production desingers using real spiders. Maybe its just a rumor. Or you can call me and I'll web up your set. ;)

Model airplane glue. (Messy)
Or get a cotton-candy machine and remove the container so you have the spinning thing exposed. (Also messy, but you can eat the mess afterwards)

We did once by using hot glue gun, if need to be waterproff.

If you have a lot of money, there is a cool way mentioned in Return of the King Extended Edition.

If you do a web search on Halloween prop building you find lots of options. One I've seen is a "web sprayer" made from a small margerine tub and a large model airplain propeller -- the device is filled with rubber cement and attached to a drill to spread the webs.
I've done what Jonny describes. It works well, but it's best if you can use the halloween spider webs in a bag, and then use the sprayer to accent it.
