Great forum you guys have going here...a friend recommended it to me. I am composer/producer looking to work to picture. Want to get my demo reel together and therefore am looking at competition/student films with no budget to get some experience. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong section. Check out samples of my work at www.allmadherecreative.com. I have a special interest in electronic scoring (not beats per-say, just a lot of electronic texturizing, with overlays of acoustic instruments). Would love to work with you if you are willing to grant me a fair amount of creative discretion.

Thanks for your time,
Mike

Welcome to the group Mike! Always great to see talent shared on these projects.

Just checked out your site ... some great stuff on there. Look forward to hearing your work on some of these films.

Welcome MikeSnow! This place is the BOMB! A day doesn't go by that I'm NOT on this site learning from the great people here.

I'm entering ThrillFest...(no matter what)...even if I'm not able to give my project the sort of polish that I'd like to....you gotta start somewhere right? Anyway. I have some questions for you, I'd just personal message you, but I'm sure that others may have similar questions.

So, how much time would you need before the "deadline" Oct 15th right? What is your process for writing? Do you want to hear the concept first...then you work on it? Or...do you want to see the finished project first ...or? Give us an idea of how that works.

As for as creative discretion...film makers can be funny about that stuff (lol)...but on this project, I'd be happy to hand you keys to the car and let you drive. :)
ps....I'm looking for an electronic feel for my project anyway...so...cool!

My ONLY concern is....that my project may fall short of what is in my head...and fall flat. If it's just me and my dumb project....no big deal...I hate to let you down too. :( I don't doubt my abilities....it's just given the amount of time that is available. (Jobs, businesses, family etc) So...please let us know about that too. I'm no Barry Green, ....but I'm also not a home video hack. :)

Welcome again!

Hey guys sorry I just checked back on the board now....was under the impression that I had set this up to notify me of any responses but it didn't seem to work! Have been working on some stuff and I'm sorry I'm 5 days late responding to your post..

HHL I am going to private message you....I would rather work to finished picture. Can work very quickly so depending on amount of music needed October 15th is an easy deadline, even if I had it a week or so before that would be great...2 weeks would be fantastic just so I could think about it for a while before working on it. Will shoot you a message...thanks for your interest and Larry thanks very much for the kind words.
