Is there a compression program that allows you to see the how much of it your compressing. Like in photoshop, when you save your file as a web. It shows you the before & after images. You guys know what I'm talking about. I don't qute understand awhole lot about compression. It would be nice just to see images. ?? thanks.

Sorenson Squeeze allows you to select a portion of the video and compress it to see the results before you compress the whole video. That's not exactly a before and after shot, but it certainly helps when encoding long pieces.

If you're wanting WMV, then Windows Media Encoder has a setting where while encoding you can open a preview window and half of it will be the input video and half of it will be the output video.

Besides that I'm not sure of any other programs that will provide what you're looking for.

Yeah Sorenson does it. I remember always being irritated that Cleaner didn't have that feature (at least not the version I was using.)
