Will still be nice to have.

One thing I'll always give Lucas is his attention to detail, and the realism of the worlds he creates. Be it THX or SW, his characters act like people really would in those worlds. I have in mind, specifically, the voiceovers in THX. Whereas sci-fi directors at that point routinely chose to make characters in futuristic flicks mechanical, wooden, almost computerized, the characters in THX were very human, very like us today -- as they will be in the future.

I can dig a SE of THX; at least there wont be some ridiculous jabba walking around. Did you see that 2:35 trailer? gorgeous.

Well, it's not like THX-1138 is an engrained, genetic-level staple of our childhoods, like some other Lucas movies.

I'm watching Star Wars now and I caught something I had never seen before...

In A New Hope (4) right before Luke gets into his X wing, a captain says "are you sure you can handle this" a guy walks right in front of the screen and lucas cut to the end of the conversation, everyone's heads turn unnaturally quick and its like "I'm sure you can do i-good luck. I thought it was interesting.

BLWolf, why are you so negative?

The End of THX is the best of all movies I've seen so far. The atmosphere in this movie is so strong, also because the sound effects and the great music. When I was young, I used to watch the end of this film in the morning before I went to school, every day. It had such a positive effect on me. That's the magic of the silver screen. But one day, I stopped doing this 'ritual'. Because my dad hat used the VHS for something else. :)

Negative? I merely pointed out that Lucas is releasing a special edition of THX-1138. I didn't pass judgement about it either way. In spite of the fact that every other 'special edition' that Lucas makes is a train wreck, my post was meant to be neutral.

I'm actually very interested in seeing this; the trailer looks very cool.

I was happy that he didn't change the title of Raiders IN the opening credits.

Dont mess with the Wolfman! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr owwwwooooooo!!! (That was my wolf howl noise)

Its kind of lame that they market the 3 INDY's as "Indiana Jones and The Radiers of the Lost Ark".

Another refernce lost on the youth... *;)

"Werewolves of London"

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking thru the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get himself a big dish of beef chow mein
the werewolves of London

If you hear his howling around the kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated last nite
Werewolves of London again
werewolves of London

He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out Jim
I'd like to meet his tailor
werewolves of London

Well, I saw Lon Cheney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Cheney Jr. walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf dringing a pina colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
the werewolves of London, draw blood

THX-1138 ... can't wait to get this one. George Lucas did an amazing job directing Robert Duvall. I wish he'd break away when Star Wars is finished and create something new ... he's overdue for a change - special editions not withstanding. :D

You'd think if we were references to the late great Mr. Zevon in reference to George Lucas, it would be "Lawyers, Guns and Money" ;)

And it especially works in terms of producing crap in your later years.
