I've stayed pretty quiet through the whole onslaught of postings after Canon's XL2 announcement, but I throught I'd venture in and share my two-cents.

Another camera with 24p is a GREAT thing, since it gives us options to shoot with. I bought the XL1s when it was launched, and shoot some great footage with it. I've had issues with the camera (two rewind motors have been replaced, the first three months after the warranty was up) and was not impressed with Canon's service department or their customer service.

I bought my DVX100 a year ago, and I haven't looked back, except to see if my Canon is still where I left it, and sadly enough, it is. Its main use is as a MiniDV deck in my studio, but available if pressded into service should anything happen to the DVX.

I have yet to see the Xl2, but I'm sure it's a decent camera. But until I see reviews from people who say it's the best thing to come to the video production market and praise it's innovation like they did the DVX100, I'll pass.
