Just did some tests with the GH13. Everything works great. No problems on AVCHD 1080 24n. Using a Sandisk 16gig Class 10

Wow, what a peacefull, neat footage, great colors, clean flares, great light playing. It would be cool if you could share your:

1. Camera film settings, lenses and any filters
2. Color grading information if any
3. Settings of the format you exported to vimeo?

Thanks in advance

i found this on Vimeo last night, and commented...the vibe on this is wonderful to me. at times, it resembles a 70s-early 80s look....very peaceful and well edited. it's definately inspired me to not be so militant about focus. your video shows that focus is a tool, and it's worth letting it slip out if it's appropriate. thanks for posting!

Thanks guys!

I'm using the C settings on the Hack with all the camera video settings set to -2.

Nikon 50mm 1.4
GH1 Stock Lens
LensBaby Composer

I used the Buffalo setting from Magic Bullet on most of the shots.

What "film mode" are you using?

08-15-2010, 07:06 PM
oh sorry. Nostalgic

08-15-2010, 11:22 PM
Nostalgic, all -2, right? That's what I used a few days ago, and I think I liked it, but I switched in the middle of the shoot, so I'm not sure :P

Yup -2 on all of them. I've found that one to be the best.

I'm wich CoCo too.

Besides sharing your settings, would it also be possible to share your lovely talent - assuming she isn't your wife/GF/daughter?

Lovely shots, anyhoo....!

Ok, cool. Yeah, I love the look of this thing. What is the music? I'm really digging it :)

wow.. i reallly loving the CC you did on this...

Did it involve a LOT of CC? or did the footage look pretty much like this out of camera?

I'm a Canon shooter, and just picking up a GF1.. One thing I've noticed about Panny footage is that the black level is elevated, giving it a look that is more film-ish and the appearance of higher DR.. is that all in the post processing? Or do the footage from the Panny DSLRs REALLY have that cine-gamma look?

She's an actress and her name is Kodi Kitchen.

The music is from the Kingdom soundtrack.

My experience is that the gh1 looks more filmic and I've been using every canon including the 1D mark 4 which was awesome. As soon as I hacked the gh1 it really became great.

I do like the canons too.
If something is too contrasty out of the camera I realized it's harder to do a lot of CC on it. So that's something to think about.

was the lensbaby the only option? could it be done in post-processing with nikkor 50mm f1.4?

btw its beautifully taken and edited. thanks for sharing.

Yeah it could be done in post possibly, but I had just bought the lensbaby and wanted to give it a try.
