I've been reading about how everyone feels about the pros and cons and comparing the XL2 to the DVX (I'm fine having just bought my DVX since it's lighter, a lot cheaper and has the features I wanted)

I was wondering though about even though it has 24p, isnt a big draw to the DVX it's cinegamma modes? Thats One of the biggest reasons i wanted one and I haven't heard anything about XL2 have anything like that. If thats the case than I'm really glad I have a DVX instead.

Anyone have more info about this? I'm not a techie or know anything about this stuff stuff so feel free to inform. THANX! ;D

the Xl2 does have a cine gamma mode. but as far as how good it is.. your guess is as good as mine.. i would assume its decent to very good.

What is interesting is the SDK to allow customisation of the gamma curves via software - similar in concept to what Sony offers on the HDW-F900 HD camera.

That's a good option, as is the programmable rack focus.
