I love all this jibber-jabber about the XL2 having image quality equal-or-better to the DVX100 (depending on whom you talk to, of course! :-)
But what about sound? This is the big thing that buys or sells a camera for me. How's the hiss? IS there a hiss?
That was the major problem (besides all the minor problems - don't get me started) I had with the XL1S. The audio s/n ratio was atrocious. It was better than Sony, sure, but that's not saying much. Then the DVX100 came, with its near-DAT quality 72 dB s/n ratio, giving it the cleanest audio I've ever heard in a camera.
If Canon has not equaled or bettered the DVX100's audio quality, then it is, in my opinion, worthless. Pretty pictures are shite without quality sound.
So, does anyone know? Has anyone tested this sucker out?
