Hi,

I'm going crazy over anamorphic lenses on dslr's, partially for the lens flare stuff, but also for the 'real' and 'old' look. Now, i was wondering, aren't there very old or bad lenses, with a lot of chromatic aberration and disorted image, which also give that old and bad/real look?

First thing in mind were the Diana F+ lenses, which are usable with an adapter, but they're 'too good'. What's else out ther? Some very bad fisheye adapters? Any ideas?

Interesting question. I saw a clip with an old Sigma lens (I think it was 50mm?) that had a real "period" look to it. Another clip that was posted on this forum had that old 70's character to it. It was a Cosina 70-200 or something? Anyway, those are the only ones that pop out for me.

Now if you want wicked lens flare and want a quality lens, then I would get the Helios 44M. It has that organic quality you're looking for and it's great glass. Best of luck.
