I agree. No noise! Great resolution but no sharpening artifacts. Not bad at all.

Maybe I was looking at the wrong stuff (I was looking at FileShare 16) but there was a lot of noise on the lowlight stuff.
Just pause the playback during the stair runs and look at the handrail edges. Guess to be expected of course..

I would like to see how it performs in 24P with cine gamma on.

Nice...oh but to see some more footage in 24P mode would be a dream come true. Is our beautiful footage from Austria all we've got? :'(

i brought the footage into AE and set it to 960x480. there seems to be what looks like compression artifacts in some of the shots. like in the opening shot of the buildings. you can see it in the bricks. anyway, i guess it makes sence to have some of that, after all you are crushing 960 frames into 720.
looks good though, id like to check it out in person.

i think it is a @#@# of a good camera...
the more i see grabs and footage, the more i think this camera has great resolution, great dynamic range, and great clean imagery.
I like it a lot !

Maybe it's my version of Quicktime (Non pro) but can some of you look at the lastest stuff from Barry G at DVInfo, and pause the playback from time to time and look around the edges of objects. I see lots and lots of artifacts. Not just vertical contrasty edges either, horizontal and around almost all edges.
Aaron
EDIT: OK, I missed the fact that this footage was compressed down from DV. The title "Hi res footage.." got me...I assume that's where the artifacts come in.

The earlier test he had made has loads of aliasing artefacts. But, the second one is very clean. Very sharp image.
All the best
Fidel.
Which earlier test are you refering to? The beach footage?
Also regarding to second clip (I'm assuming this is the 4x3 clip): Did anyone else have stuttering frames? Is it just bad compression or a corrupted file? My computer can play back the beach footage perfectly but stutters in places with the 4x3 stuff....

Mine stutters too on playback. But I must admit, it's very nice looking footage... ;)
Oh yes indeed it is! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me (and/or my computer). Thanks for the info :)

Hi all
The footage I posted was compressed at a very high bit rate in mpeg4 (so I could fit as much full resolution material, with as little compression artifacts as possible onto my webspace). This may be taxing for some processors, which is the cause of the stuttering for some of you.
Cheers

Barry G, is it possible for you to shoot some footage in 24p? We would really like to see some clean 24p footage.

the 24p looks amazing... although i don't recommend panning when the shutter's at 1/24....
