After much research, and wondering "am I in focus" too many times... I finally bought a loupe/viewfinder for my 7D

I ended up going with this one off ebay: (not affiliated)
http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-viewfinder-x2-8-Canon-EOS-5D-MKII-7D-500D-S90-/110562331660?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19be074c0c (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180533470371&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT)
$69.99 - $5.60 (Bing Cash Back) = $64.39

Shipped from Poland, took about a week to arrive in Southern California.
Made in China, the box says it's a Meike MK-VF100
Looks like a LCDVF knock off, just more reasonably priced.

If you have any questions, or want to see pics, let me know.

Now I'm just waiting for my 126-LED on camera light to show up from China ($46.40 - BCB $3.71 = $42.69). Already got the Sony F550 batteries to go with it. I'm going to miss Bing Cash Back!

How do you attach that loupe to the camera?

The listing says that it uses some type of magnetic attachment. I am bummed, I like the loupe (the price for sure), but I have a T2i, and none of their listings are for that camera.

magnetic attachment, comes with 2 frames. t2i has a 3" lcd same as 7d doesn't it? If so it should work.

I am not sure. I know that the T2i LCD is 3", but I think that the shape is wider then on the 7D.

Looks just like the LCDVF 3/2. Factory-direct price or Cheap knock-off? I'm curious...

The auction states it works on the 550D but that must be incorrect as it is shown on either a 5D or 7D

No, the T2i/550D LCD is wider, at a 3:2 aspect ratio, hence the '3/2' in LCDVF 3/2

This is a pirate copy using all our marketing materials and even renderings and photos from a year ago:)... Legal actions are in progress.
The only difference basically is the lens as they use this siple plano convex lens with soft edged and chromatic abberived image quality that might not be an issue.
This viewfinder does not use achromatic lenses to avoid edge softness and chromatic abberrations.
This knock off viewfinder also features an eyecup made of rubber that is not meant for skin contact instead of skin friendly silicone. To make sure just smell it.
And it will burn your LCD screen if aligned with sun.
