Hey gang

has anyone used "Magic Bullet Editors" software on XL2 24P footage?

I'm not a big fan of "video to film look" plug-ins but there are some people that swear by this software.

Was curious to see if it is any good or if it adds anything to the final image.

I tried MB in Vegas. It looks great, but takes forever to render.
I only tried it once. :)

I use it now and then on my XL2 footage but it is a render dog. Too long for my tastes. I usually create a custom set of color curves that emulate the look and feel I want and use this. It looks very similar to magic bullet but renders a lot quicker. It tool 20 minutes to render a 20 minute scene. *If I recall correctcly a 2 minute scene took over an hours using magic bullet. And I had turned off all of the lens effects and was using only color correction.

FWIW

Thanks for the replies.

I just downloaded the demo and used it on some of my footage.

Kinda cute filters but you guys are right...it is a monster when it comes to render times. Looks no different than color correcting it using some other method. I was hoping it had some grain film effects(grain, dust, hairs, shudder amount etc.)

Maybe I haven't looked close enough
