what skin detail setting do most of you use, if any at all???
and for what circumstances... i'm trying to set my presets...
I never use it. I keep my detail level turned down enough that it pretty much does nothing.
How high are you setting your detail level?

mine is currently at default... which is OFF...
however, the reason i ask is because barry's XL2 technicolor settings have worked so well for me (the colors look a LOT more vibrant) than the default... a lot of work posted with the XL2 (even professional), it looks like the color settings have not been tampered with... unless that's the look they're looking for, i don't see why they wouldn't use the optional tweaks that the XL2 allows to achieve more accurate color...
i'd figure someone has come up with skin detail settings that is useable also ....
Sorry, I don't my question was in reference to the cameras edge enhancement. You will get more noticable results with the edge enhancement turned up. That said, if you edge enhancement isn't very high the results will be very hard to notice - at least that's my experience with the DVX. You would have to run a test yourself.
Also, I think the XL2 has pretty accurate color rendition. It may lean towards red slightly as did the XL1 but it's definitely one of the more accurate cameras around.
