View Full Version : Question on the stability of playback of 24P

I've read and read, but I have not been able to find out if the newest version (3.40d), with 24P enabled, will the GH1 be able to play the video within the camera without freezing? (it seems that it was mentioned in 3.60 that it was fixed, but I didn't see anyone talking about it)

I am only interested in making high-bit AVCHD clips in 24P, and being able to play it back in the camera for preview without issues will be very helpful.

Thank you for the answer in advance.

24PN plays back perfectly on camera with 3.40d version.

I'm very new to this, but I've been trying it today (ver 3.40d on a Panny 16GN Class 10 card) and using either the 'a', 'b' or 'c' settings with 24PN, it crashes on bright, static detail shots (lawn etc). I had to uncheck the 24PN to get no crashes and then I can use all the way up to 'c' settings with no crashes. (No other settings adjusted.)

I have had no issue playing 24pN in camera with "C" settings. I'm using Scandisk Class 6 card.

If you are having a problem playing your video back in the camera, make sure you didn't check any of the audio patches when you did the firmware hack. Its a known problem that checking the audio patches will cause the camera to not play back your video. That was my problem when I first started messing with the hack.

Thank you all so much for the response. I'll be patching my camera very soon to do this.
