O.K. hang with me, I'm learnin....

I would assume that I'm missing some sort of piece or something between the boom pole and the mic. I've seen mention of an isolator which makes perfect sense, but I figured the boom pole would have come with what I needed.

I was wrong.

I purchased a decent boom a Gitzo G557C, and can't figure out how to mount a mic to the thing? What else do I need here? (Please don't say gaffers tape)

By the way I will be using Senn ME66 and ME64 for capturing dialog and "machine noises" in a warehouse environment.

Thanks for the help.

You need a good shockmount for the mic. The shockmount will isolate the mic from handling noise on the boom.
