i have a friend who re-enacts WWII (US side) battles, but they come from all over the US to do it, if you would like i could ask him who might be willing to do it and give you the contact information. otherwise try looking for re-enactor forums, and ask there.

they haul tanks and armaments all over, and i know he was an extra in a few movies, as well as a lot of his re-enactor buddies. you may be able to luck out and bum some other gear too; years back when i was in high school, my folks owned a restaurant and twice a year we would get 30-40 re-enactors in for dinner, in full uniform, and most of them would drive their jeeps and WWII vehicles, big guns and tanks stowed, into the parking lot. it was pretty cool going to work and feeling like it was 1945.

Here is a resource to try. MPE.net look under costumes and give it a try.

If you're still looking, try CREATURES OF HABIT in Paducah, KY. They've worked on some Hollywood stuff and they're the outfit I used for the German uniforms for my film DER STEINFROSCH.

Have you talked to Doc Bernard? He's around here somewhere. He may be able to help.

There is the Grenadier Regiment "Hoch- und Deutschmeister"
A living history unit based in Atlanta, portraying Kompanie 2 of the "Hoch- und Deutschmeister" from the period 1939-1945.
But I canīt find a website in the moment.

Try this: http://www.reenactor.net/

good luck with your project,

Frank

P.S. 3rd Armored Division is in your neightborhood.
They do mainly US impressions, but I know that some of them are doing German as well.

Get in touch with the local VFW. That's what we did for our WWII short. They will probably know how to get in touch with the right people. They'll likely know if anyone in the area collects WWII memorabilia, if there are any re-enactors in town, etc.

Re-enactors are definitely the way to go. I borrowed some costumes for a state production of "The Diary of Anne Frank" from a collector/re-enactor, who not only provided me with full kit for both my officer and stormtrooper, including non-functioning weapons, but went into obsessive detail about the insignia and the officer's cap, that appealed to my authenticity-maven soul. I don't know about Georgia, but you can often find rental houses that specialize in military uniforms. I know there's one in Vancouver, that even has things like tanks and EVA suits. They didn't carry the Nazi uniforms, but they referred me to the guy who helped me out. If you call around to the rental houses, they're usually pretty good about referring you to the right place; they all help each other out that way.

My officer looked like a recruiting poster, when he was done. :)
