I have a mac and use AOL for Email? Can anyone recommend the best way to send [ I-Tunes ] MP-3 files using AOL? I can actually use both Stuffit and Zip formats with AOL but files are still large!.....Especially for people with Dial-up modems. I have heard Sorensen compression programs are the way to go!! Appreciate help! Have some video buddies in far flung corners of the world that I'd like to send my music compositions for them to use! Is anybody doing this? Or is quality simply too degraded to use! I know I have received MP-3 files before .........Can't beleive I haven't addressed this yet! Help!

MP3s are already pretty far compressed, but you can ZIP them.

How long are these songs, though? In my experience, MP3s are about a megabyte a minute, and with a typical three-minute song, 3MB doesn't seem like all that much to worry about.

Even with dial-up, I'd think.

WMA will compress 35% more without a loss in quality, same with MP3 pro. You need to check your email limit though, many email providers wont alow over 2mb.

Which, of course, begs the question -- what is that extra 35% FOR?

2MB? Really? Harsh!

I think on dial-up connections you're looking at about ten minutes per megabyte, so a 3mb file would take a while...

Can you upload to an FTP? Possibly sign up with a free webhosting program with 50MB of space...? Just thinking..

Has anyone used DVX........compression DVX.com ........I've heard today the files are about 10x smaller than MP3! Kyle..Very kind offer...I'm gonna ponder and experiment for a while.........Quite a few options in addressing this......I'm sure many regulars in this forum could benefit upon the ways in which to do this! Uploading to an FTP makes the most sense right now! The search continues! Thanks guys for your precious time! What a great site this is!!!!!

Wow . . . I don't ever remember it being that long.

But I'm probably very spoiled by now.
