Hi,
*
My post relates to using a mixer which is sending its signal directly into the dvx100a. How does one go about making sure that the levels on the mixer are accurately reflected in the levels on the DVX? Is adjusting the camera visible meter and the mixer meter the way to go? Using a 1k tone?

I was advised by someone at Location Sound to set the mixer at 0 (with tone) and then set the DVX at -8. My questions would then be does the DVX have -8 marked in the viewfinder audio meter?

Thanks for any help.

what mixer do you use , is it uv or ppm mitter that you have
yjr first red line is -12 dbfs ,
if you running uv (+4db) mitter mixer set the 0 on mixer on the 3rd wite from the red -it about -18dbfs
that will give you enouth headroom for working
the picks on dialog could be 10-15 db
be sure that you dont run to hot .
the best if you can send camera returns back to your mixer and hear if you distort ( dont use the headphones out -use the rca , if you have unbulance -10 dbv returns the mitters have to act the same on your out and return input )
