Hey, I'm a little new to quality audio, so please help me out. I plan to use sennheiser mics on my movie(a narrative drama) and know that you need to put windscreens on them. On a normal day(I live in NYC), are such foam velour winscreens fine? Some people say that the sounds sucks unless you buy an expensive softie/equalizer/blimp? Help me out please.
Also, what reasonable audio setups in general would you guys suggest for a narrative in NYC with a small crew?(I need dialogue in city streets, ambient noise for the environment, and a good deal of nice-sounding narration.
I'm thinkin about Sennheisers(like the ME66,64,62, etc) and what shockmounts? Lavs? Thanks.

depends on the wind you are dilling on locaition
the foam is normaly dont give you any protection on extiriars
not nessasery to buy new , few companie sell used zeppelins in very good condition and mikes
i know that every one here expect that the proportions of investment would be the same like with 50000$ camera *so they are wrong
for good mike setup you need the same amount of money like for hd
so the budget dfor minimum good (usibal ) audio setup can be more then your camera worth
rent
you can have good deal for full sound packeg for your moovie without put 3-5 grand out for minimum packeg

start with this site

, read it twice , you have 90% of the unswers -the last 10 % depends on your shooting list
