Hello, i snatched up a Sennheiser MKH-816 mic on ebay today but have a question. The mic is the 'T' version (not phantom power). I am hoping to use it with my dvx100a, will i need to buy a 12v power box thing to use the mic with the dvx or can i just plug it into the camera (it has the 3prong male attatchment for the xlr socket).
thanks.
matt

I have used a MKH-416 that had a home made battery addapter using two 9V batteries to power it (I believe that the mic can handle the 18V supplied by the two batteries) and it seemed to work fine if your interested I can probably get a circuit diagram for you if your handy with a soldering iron.

mkh-416 works also with the dvx 48V phantom.
