Just took the plunge and purchased the Sennheiser G2 system.. Anyone use this system yet?? Lav transciever and reciever?? ill be getting it on friday..

I bought mine and received it last week. I haven't had a chance to use it yet though. The will use it on my next shoot in September.

I have G2 and it works good with a very good sound. I have also used K6/ME64 instead the lav-mic to the transmitter.

It's a good system for the money. If you can swing it, get an MKE2 lav for it. It will sound much better. If you can't, then the ME2 will definitely work well for you.

That mic is almost what I paid for the unit itself.. lol.. Do i really need that mic???
What 410$ improvement will I hear?

$410?! Damn dude. Where did you get that price? E-mail me privately, and I can get you a better price.
I think it's worth it to do it, but it's ultimately up to you. The supplied is not bad at all, and works very well. The MKE-2 is a much better mic, and you'll be able to tell a difference right away.

Got the system yesterday.. Seems pretty nice.. The front of the unit is plastic. it flips down to expose the *battery inserts.. I guess its ok. as far as durability.. Maybe Im expecting too much. they do work nice though left it by TV and carried camera and phones way down the street listening to TV. Tried the test again... went approx. 130 - 140 meters before I noticed audio cutting out
