Wired and then wireless. Each mic is identified and was recorded in the same way... I thought the Oktava sounded unusually bad in this clip... so don't hold it against the Oktava too much. (I sound like Ray Ramano with the Oktava here.)

All mics were recorded from about 10-12" away from my mouth.

Another interesting thing to note is how much the wireless "crushes" the dynamic mic (the d230 at the end) and yet it doesn't sound too bad on the others.

I've been debating moving one of my Lectro sets... but today it sounded pretty good. What do you think?

Got a Sennheiser ME64 you can run a test on?

Sorry... the best I can do is an me66. There's a clip of it on here somewhere. The 64 will have a very similar tone and character as the 66... but with a wider pattern... that helps it to sound more natural then a 66... but still not a "warm" mic.

There's something else I need to clarify for anybody stumbling across this stuff. I owned a 66 for a little over a year and I really liked it... It wasn't until I tried some other mics that I decided to "move on"... as it were.

The fact is that the most important function of a mic is to gather clear, intelligible sound... and the me66 does that very well. Beyond that... your taste may evolve into more expensive and exotic flavors... but the most important job remains the same. So just because I happen to be insane when it comes to sound doesn't mean that YOU have to spend all YOUR lunch money on the best mic you can't afford. It's entirely possible to get professional sound with any reasonable mic.

A ribeye steak and a filet mignon will nourish you in exactly the same ways... it's just a question of taste and budget... but I can still enjoy the ribeye when I don't have the cash for a filet.

Try not to get desperate for better and better mics... I can't decide if I was happier when I didn't know the difference or if I'm happier continuously chasing perfection. :P
