In my film I will be doing reenactments of from various points throughout history. I read through posts already and got some good ideas on constructing a patient's room in a hospital. Also, some ideas on obtain military clothing. However, I figured I would post what I need and see where it gets me.

I need Roman soldier armor and gear

I need an 18th Century outfit for the character of Captain Cook and his men

Polynesian style dress of that same era

WWII naval sailor and Army clothing

Vietnam Army/Marine uniform

Also, I will need weapons, shields ect all the accessories.

I am on Oahu so either any place in Hawaii or a place that ships here would be great.

Find some reenactment groups.
They have the best know-how and own all the bells and whistles.
Most of them are even glad to contribute to a film for food, travel expense and an end credit.

Lots of them got websites and boards like this: http://www.reenactor.net/

its funny you say that because I have just spent an hour looking at reenactment groups. This is a great idea. It pretty much covers all I need except Cpt Cook and his men.

You can rent from Los Angeles costume houses and simply air-freight the costumes back and forth. The LA->Hawaii loop is pretty well established.

*sigh* Yet another reason to wish I was in Hawaii. I do costumes from just about every period. There's a group in the SCA in BC, Canada, that's got an astonishing collection of Roman gear. If you're still looking, I could track down their contact info, but you'd have to ship it from Vancouver.
