cant ever go wrong with Denzel but is John Voight regurgitating thr same role over and over?

Looks like an interesting flick :)
I'm a renewed fan of Liev Schreiber. Tho a small role, his work in "The Sum of All Fears" impressed me.

Me too! I never thought he was the right fit for the Scream franchise but I am growing to appreciate his work.
I'm actually surprised he did scream because he's looked upon as this very visceral stage actor who really digs deep for the "craft". Scream was one of the reasons why I initially wrote him off, but movies like TSoAF and (hopefully) the Manchurian are renewing my faith in his work :)

The movie (like so many others) is a pale imitation of the original . . .
The fascinating psychology of brainwashing being replaced by simple nanotech implants . . .
The element of a foreign power controlling the President replaced by an Evil Corporation (TM) . . .
The hint of incest between Schreiber and Streep . . . what the heck was that all about?
However, they did do a pretty good job of keeping the politics of the parties neutral.

do they still have the garden club scene? or anything like it? the scene from the original where the platoon is siting in front of a panel of chinese and russians, but to the troops they look like old ladies in a garden club. that scene from the original is one if my favorite scenes ever.

I didn't think that the original was very (original), I'm tired of seeing remakes of flawed movie's that turn out to be swamped with flaw's again. what's jonathan demme thinking? The incest hint was wierd too. denzel's character wasn't anything that I hadn't seen before. Check out the (The Astronaut's Wife) there was the same character to the tee that denzel played in the candidate. ** out of *****

and the remake sorely lacked the 'gardening club' expose of the minds of the soldiers.
