I just saw the Village,
and did you guys notice how many boom mic dips were in this film?
I noticed it three *times, everytime I am about to really get into film, I saw the mic. Totally ruined the moment, and annoyed the hell out of me. On this one shot, the boom mic was so down that it was almost touching the actor(Bryce Howard)'s head.
I don't know who the boom operator was, but totally ruined the film for me. >:(

the boom operator didn't ruin the film your underpaid projectionist did, almost every print of every movie that's released will have booms in the shot. It's the job of the projectionist to crop the picture by moving it up or making it bigger or whatever. Complain to your local theatre about how they are displaying there films.

Funny, I remember this happened with Signs too, people were complaining about boom mics dipping into the shots.

Proectionists must be thinking it was "top cut" rather than "centre cut"
