I know this has been asked before, but I have yet to see a definitive answer:

So let's make a solution so people can get the correct answer:

We want to generate color bars from our 7D or 5D to calibrate an external monitor

We can do this with a jpg file, I have downloaded several and varying qualities. They vary so greatly that at the moment that I don't trust any of them.

1) Should we be using a 0IRE or 7.5IRE color bar jpg?

2) Can some supply a high resoution jpg that is correct?

7.5 is for broadcast black, so I would vote for that.
A quick google brought me this page, and they have one thats 641 x 481.
You can also try to hook up your monitor to a computer and run CB from your timeline, most NLEs have bars you can bring in.

7.5 is strictly for analog NTSC and is outdated. Always use 0- FCP is only set up for O black
