Ok, I have been working on getting an animator for the title sequence and our other film. I have been pretty quiet about what I am trying to do, but now I have the guy so I can talk about it. I am trying to mix animation (or stills) with live action in a hardcore way as an expository device to help get to the killing. Expediting story in favor of character development and style is difficult and should not be done, but I am getting a strange satisfaction from chasing the various styles of my heroes- Peckinpah, Ford, Kurosawa, Leone, Tarantino, Kubrick, and Cronenberg for this particular competition. I am also quoting Rian Johnson if you can believe it...

Moderately Shallow Thoughts about the fest:
4/5/10
I am kind of nervous about doing this. I mean, it is a great opportunity to get judged, but when do you not have a great opportunity to get judged in this line of work? No, the subject is very close to me. I have to do it justice, so I have to do well here. This is a good fest. I'm glad it's my first.

First time, well entering the fest is already great. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

I will have plenty, so thanks for that advice...
This artist that I am working with is amazing... way to good for me to keep under wraps. His name is Chris Foreman. He is incredible. PM me if you want to get his contact stuff... He is serious about static and dynamic art, can really draw, has a great understanding of frame and mis(e) en scene, and is a heluva comic book artist. Seriously, he sketched a rough storyboard with a sharpie and captured exactly what I saw in my head...

Quick update- I have secured Scott Cooke from DX9 Designs here in Houston for the makeup effects. I really have to step up the work since I am playing with the big boys here.
