I have built a Ring light out of common materials from Home Depot. All together everything costed about 100 dollars. I use 65w floods for now but of course you could use stronger lights. This is a great fill light for close ups and Ive used it on music videos and Tv commercials. My clients love it!
I have no idea how to post pictures or else I would send some for all to see.
If anyone is interested to know how it is built I will type instructions and if some one would be so kind as to tell me how to post pics I will post those as well.
thanks!

I want to see.

Save some images as a Jpeg and then goto:

imageshack.us

Then upload and it will take you where your pics are. *Either provide the URL's or you can insert the URL's between the following brackets

[img*] * URL * *[/img*] asteriks are not supposed to be here.

Why not just get a circular fluorescent tube? Because of the dead spot where the ends almost meet?

The dead spot is not a problem for me. I made this test long ago.

gumonstro - that footage looks pretty good for a flouro light. How'd you mount it on the cam? Power?

As I said in that old thread, I didnŽt mount that around the lens. I was holding it. It was AC powered. IŽll think later about a mount solution.
