I have two DVX100's (not A's) and I need to make clones (i.e., dubs, exact copies) of DV footage originated on one camera.
*
Is it possible to use two DVX's to copy via Firewire?
*
If so, I'm having a hard time figuring out any specific instructions or caveats (re: exact timecode copying, etc.) in the manual.
*
Has anyone done this before? * If so, can you give me a quick tutorial? *
For some dumb reason, two DVX's are all I have, no cheap DV camera or deck.
*
Thanks in advance,
-Phil

I do copies of minidv to minidv all the time. Just connect the two cameras with firewire cable, put on a VCR mode 'press' play in one and 'record' in the other.

yes.. the dvx is one of the few prosumer cameras than can dub exact timecode.. inclulding preset timecode (meaning of you start at 01:00:00 it will be like that on the clone instead of 00:00:00)
