Great low light footage - Can you take stills in movie mode?

it's a deja vu or something because i have seen a clip with that location before... when I was researching and was looking for 7D footages months ago... interesting... good video none the less... but that dreamy look isn't really a best way to show off the camera low light capacity

Yes you can take pictures in movie mode, BUT flash is disabled.

yes you can take pictures but it stops recording for a second and you will see a pause in your footage when you play it back.

Movie mode does not necessarily mean someone is recording, I can shoot photos in movie mode without recording. The question that was asked was " if you can shoot pictures in movie mode". Now if you are recording video your statement is Correct, but it can actually be a cool edit if you split the scenes......
